What Kids Love & Hate about School

• Currently seeking publication / distribution for the documentary film and a companion manuscript, Generating Civic Conversations around What Kids Love and Hate about School, co-authored by Dr. Jennifer Friend and Dr. Loyce Caruthers, in an educational research journal or book.

What Kids Love & Hate about School was created using digital video interview footage conducted with 145 students in three urban elementary schools in the Midwest.  This documentary short film provides the unique opportunity for teachers, school and district administrators, higher education faculty, and other educational stakeholder to connect the diverse experiences communicated through the voices of students to educational practices.
